Livy Nelson
Livy Nelson is a multidisciplinary artist from the UK, currently living and creating in Hanoi, Vietnam. Her current work a vivid exploration of her present environment, from delving into Vietnamese mythology to tackling social issues with focus on endangered species and pollution.
Born in Italy, this is where she spent her formative years. Her family then moved to Scotland. Her work is a vibrant contrast of color and theme that mirror these early years, connecting a sense of nostalgia with contemporary ideas.
Through these different landscapes, Livy developed an interest for cultural symbolism as well as love for the natural world. Her passion for the environment can be seen in her work and is leading her to push for a more sustainable art practice.
She graduated with a Masters in Illustration from Portsmouth University in 2018 where she was also awarded the Santander Travel Grant. Since then, she has been involved in multiple group exhibition as well as solo exhibitions in various countries. She has also organized and curated multiple exhibitions and creative events in both the UK and Vietnam as well as fundraised for multiple charities.
